Chizhik’s Tales is an interactive musical performance with sand animation. Chizhik’s Tales will let the youngest viewers get acquainted with the stories and the music of the greatest ballets by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Prokofiev, and Karen Khachaturian. The subscription features four musical tales: Cipollino, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, and The Sleeping Beauty. The ingenious performances will take the little viewers to the world of music and will prepare them to understand ballets in future. The viewers will have the possibility to create sand animation, play the vibraphone and other percussions.

Pirate skirmishes and the abduction of beautiful slave girls in Le Corsaire, the battle with the Mouse King in The Nutcracker, the fight with the tyrannical Prince Lemon in Cipollino, the desperate search for the beautiful stranger who has lost her glass slipper in Cinderella — you’ll plunge into the world of fairytales, feel the spirit of adventure, and root for the noble heroes in their fight for goodness and justice.

Stories from history, literature, and fairy tales have always occupied a special place in musical theatre. The ‘Theatre through the Ages’ subscription package will show how actual events from the past, reflected in literature, can be transformed when they encounter the mediums of opera and ballet. A power struggle, a conspiracy, vengeance, and a prison escape underpin the enthralling musical themes in Un ballo in maschera and Tosca. The creators of the ballet "I Love You, Peter’s Creation..." were inspired by the memory of St. Petersburg’s founder and their admiration for Pushkin, whose immortal poem The Bronze Horseman is a celebration of this great city. And memories of the elegant and gallant French royal court will be revived and refreshed in The Sleeping Beauty.

The ballets Romeo and Juliet and The Sleeping Beauty are among choreographer Nacho Duato’s greatest works. The ‘Tchaikovsky’ subscription package includes operas and ballets that are the pride of the Russian musical canon. Tchaikovsky, who achieved world-wide fame during his own lifetime, wrote music which has inspired choreographers and directors alike, providing them with limitless potential for interpretation. This package will include the classic production of Swan Lake (choreography by Marius Petipa, Lev Ivanov, and Alexander Gorsky) and a modern version of The Sleeping Beauty in which Nacho Duato offers a new take on the traditions of classical ballet. The operas featured are Iolanta in the time-honoured production, and a sensational interpretation of Eugene Onegin directed by the always original Andriy Zholdak, who never shies from a departure from the classical canon.

Forms of Silence and Emptiness — the contemporary choreographer’s take on the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. He reaches back through two centuries, linking the great composer’s time with the present day.
