Ernest Latypov

principal dancer of the Mikhailovsky Theatre
winner of international competitions

Ernest Latypov is a graduate of Vaganova Ballet Academy, where his teacher was Gennady Selyutsky. In 2012, immediately after graduating from the Academy, Ernest Latypov was invited to join the troupe of the Mariinsky Theatre, where he performed the main and leading roles.
In 2018, the dancer joined the ballet troupe of the Mikhailovsky Theatre as a soloist. The chief guest choreographer of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, Mikhail Messerer, highlights Ernest Latypov’s unique ability to instantly learn a choreographic text. In just the first two seasons of work, the artist performed the main roles in almost all the theatre’s classic performances. Critics invariably note his grace, temperament and sincerity, as well as the fact that “any of his performances is a real master class in ‘ballet calligraphy’”.
In 2024, Ernest Latypov became the principal dancer of the ballet troupe.
