Valeria Zapasnikova
first soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre
Valeria Zapasnikova graduated from Vaganova Ballet Academy, where her teacher was Tatyana Udalenkova. Immediately after completing her studies, the artist joined the troupe of the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
For any role — romantic, dramatic or comic — Valeria Zapasnikova finds special colours, making her image unique. At the Mikhailovsky Theatre she revealed herself as a ballerina, who can master the most diverse repertoire. Critics note that “Valeria Zapasnikova’s dance is always technically accurate, filled with lively expression and a bright acting personality”. Today the artist performs solo and leading roles in almost all ballets of the current repertoire on the stage of the theatre.
