The name of Emperor Peter I, the founder St Petersburg, is dear to the heart of every citizen of the city. Already during his lifetime, he was called the “Father of the Fatherland”. He burst into the measured course of history like a whirlwind and transformed Russia.

Honoring the 350th anniversary of Peter the Great, the Mikhailovsky Theatre hosts a gala concert featuring famous opera and ballet artists from the Bolshoi Theatre, Mikhailovsky Theatre and Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The leading soloists, the choir and the symphony orchestra of the Mikhailovsky Theatre under the baton of the principal conductor Alexander Soloviev will perform the famous arias and grandiose finales of operas by Mikhail Glinka, Modest Mussorgsky, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, and Andrey Petrov.

The ballet pieces will be performed by the ballet stars under the baton of Pavel Sorokin.
