Victoria Voytenkova

soprano, soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre opera

Victoria Voitenkova began studying vocals in 1997 with Inessa Prosalovskaya. In 2005–2007, the artist studied at the Zurich University of Music and Theatre, and in 2007–2009 at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin. In 2009–2011, Victoria took part in the Scuola dell’Opera Italiana program for young singers at the Bologna Opera House, where she studied with leading vocal teachers, including Tiziana Fabbricini, Sonia Ganassi, Darina Takova, Bruno Bartoletti and Vittorio Terranova.
In 2012, Victoria Voitenkova joined the troupe of the Mikhailovsky Theatre. The ample range of her voice, strong and even in all registers, allows her to perform roles in both soprano and mezzo-soprano repertoire. Critics note the images of Basmanov she created in the opera “Oprichnik” and of Prince Orlovsky in the operetta “Die Fledermaus”: “A male role is always an acting challenge for female singers. Victoria Voitenkova handles the transformation effortlessly, while demonstrating excellent vocal skills.”
