Svetlana Moskalenko
soprano, soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre opera
Svetlana Moskalenko graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory in 2012 in the class of Tamara Novichenko. As a fourth-year student, in 2011 she joined the troupe of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, on the stage of which she made her debut as Oscar in G. Verdi’s opera “Un ballo in maschera”. In 2015, the artist became a winner of the 2nd prize at the Tchaikovsky International Competition.
Svetlana Moskalenko has a lyric-coloratura soprano of rare beauty, strength and plasticity of sound, a bright acting temperament and truly dramatic expression. Critics note that every year she becomes stronger and more confident: “You need to have a lot in your soul in order to saturate the viewer’s attention without auxiliary fuss. Moskalenko succeeded in that. Time after time, scene after scene, her voice created a timeless space of pure emotion.”
Svetlana Moskalenko is a guest soloist at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Opéra national de Lorraine, the Malmö Opera, and the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.
