Irina Perren

prima ballerina of the Mikhailovsky Theatre
Honoured Artist of Russia

Irina Perren graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in 1998 in the class of Tatyana Udalenkova. After graduation, the artist joined the troupe of the Mikhailovsky Theatre. In her first season, Irina Perren danced the role of Odette — Odile in the ballet “Swan Lake”, the virtuoso roles of Princess Aurora in “The Sleeping Beauty” and Medora in “Le Corsaire”. Already in 1998, she became the theatre’s prima ballerina. In 2010, the ballerina was awarded the title of Honoured Artist of Russia.
In 2014, she represented the Mikhailovsky Theatre at the Cultural Olympics in Sochi. Excellent technical abilities, excellent school of classical dance, and a bright acting personality allow critics to call Irina Perren’s talent special. “Her variations are full of open energy, plastic beauty, she gives graphic clarity to internal dramatic power in every step, choreographic combination, and aerial jumps.”
