Igor Podoplelov graduated from the Victor Popov Academy of Choral Art, majoring in musical and theatrical art (class of Professor Natalia Nikulina), in 2018. The singer took lessons from Semyon Skigin, Svetlana Nesterenko, Ekaterina Vasheruk, Elena Novak.
In 2019–2021, the artist was a trainee of the Bolshoi Theatre Opera company, where he performed the roles of Aeneas (“Dido and Aeneas” by Henry Purcell), Schaunard (“La Bohème” by Giacomo Puccini), Silvano (“Un ballo in maschera” by G. Verdi), Lebedev (“The Idiot” by M. S. Weinberg) among others.

Critics note that Igor Podoplelov’s deep, smooth voice and artistic talent allow him to perform the most diverse repertoire. The singer is equally convincing when performing oratorios and masses by Johann Sebastian Bach and George Frideric Handel, music by Felix Mendelssohn, Richard Wagner and Johannes Brahms, works by Ralph Vaughan-Williams, Igor Stravinsky, Dmitry Shostakovich, and Alexander Tchaikovsky.
The artist collaborates with conductors Vladimir Spivakov, Yuri Bashmet, Teodor Currentzis, Philip Chizhevsky, Christopher Moulds, Tugan Sokhiev, Alexander Rudin, Arsenty Tkachenko, Mikhail Klauza, and Ivan Nikiforchin.
