Mikhail Pirogov

tenor, opera soloist at the Mikhailovsky Theatre
Honoured Artist of the Republic of Buryatia

Mikhail Pirogov studied at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory in the class of People’s Artist of Russia Yuri Marusin. In 2010, the artist was accepted into the opera troupe of the Tsydynzhapov Buryat Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
In 2011, Mikhail Pirogov became a soloist of the Saratov Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, and in 2014 he returned to Buryatia. In 2018, the artist joined the troupe of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, and since 2021 he has been performing as the leading soloist of NOVAT.
In 2022, Mikhail Pirogov made his debut on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre. The same year, he received the Highest National Theatre Award “Golden Mask” in the category “Best Opera Singer” for his performance of the role of Solovey Budimirovich in “The Bogatyrs” by A. P. Borodin (production of the Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theatre).
