Dmitry Golovnin

Dmitry Golovnin graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory in 1997, studying trumpet with People’s Artist of Russia Yuri Bolshiyanov. After graduating from the conservatory, he was a soloist in the trumpet group of the Glinka St. Petersburg Chapel Symphony Orchestra, a trainee in the brass group of the Mariinsky Theatre and a member of the Neva Brass ensemble.
At the age of 27, Dmitry Golovnin began taking his first singing lessons from the teacher of the St. Petersburg Conservatory, Stanislav Bureev. In 2001, the musician was a free student at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre. After six months of training, he performed his first role — Boni in the production of I. Kalman’s operetta “Silva”. He took singing lessons from Franz Grundheber, Virgilijus Noreika, and Elena Obraztsova.
In the 2003/04 season, the singer performed the part of Don José (“Carmen” by J. Bizet) in Seville and Lübeck, and the part of Lionel (“Martha” by F. von Flotow) in Solingen. From 2005 to 2007 he was a soloist at the St. Petersburg Opera Theatre under the direction of Yuri Alexandrov. In 2007, Dmitry Golovnin joined the troupe of the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
The artist collaborates with the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the Mariinsky Theatre, NOVAT, the Zurich Opera, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Basel Theater, the Lyon Opera, Theater An der Wien in Vienna, the Vienna Opera, the Teatro Real Madrid, La Monnaie Theatre in Brussels, La Scala Theatre and others.
