Carla Bruni recital

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, until recently France’s first lady, will give her first performance in St. Petersburg with a solo concert at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. She will be bringing “her Little French Songs, set to guitar, and a unique Parisian vibe, captured not only in every line, but also in the image of the singer herself.”

Carla Bruni started out as a model: in the 1990s, she was one of the ten best known and highest-paid models in the world as the face of Guess and Versace. After her career on the catwalk came to an end, she reinvented herself as a singer and since then has released four solo albums, writing many of the songs herself. Her repertoire spans a variety of styles, from blues to slow rock and even folk.

In February 2008, Carla Bruni married Nicolas Sarkozy, becoming France’s first lady. In October 2011, they had a daughter named Giulia. Carla Bruni has also appeared in films: most recently, she was seen in Midnight in Paris.

The concert is being organized by PMI.
