The Onegin National Opera Award is made every year for outstanding achievements in the development and promotion of opera. This year, the awards ceremony and concert featuring renowned stars of the opera world has been timed to coincide with the 185th anniversary of the Mikhailovsky Theatre. A jury will evaluate nominees from 30 Russian opera houses, shortlisted by a panel of experts, and choose prizewinners across seven categories. The ceremony’s special guests will be the legendary bel canto virtuosos bass-baritone Ruggero Raimondi and soprano Patrizia Ciofi.
