Evgeny Solodovnikov
Evgeny Solodovnikov graduated from the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in 2007. He participated in master classes held by Richard Barker, Paolo di Napoli, Badri Maisuradze, Elena Obraztsova, and Vladimir Atlantov. He joined the Mikhailovsky Opera in 2007. At the Mikhailovsky Theatre, he performed Officer in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Skula in Borodin’s Prince Igor (productions by Stanislav Gaudasinsky), Zaretsky and Officer in Eugene Onegin (production by Vasily Barkhatov), Lieutenant Ratñliffe in the Russian première of Britten’s Billy Budd, directed by Willy Decker, and Malyuta Skuratov in Rimsky-Korsakov’s Tsar’s Bride (production by Andrey Moguchy). Here he also performed the Police Officer in the music and literature performance Boris the Tsar, staged after the first edition of Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, under the baton of Vladimir Jurowski. Nowadays, at the Mikhailovsky Theatre he performs bass parts in the operas by Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, and Boris Asafiev.
