Victor Aleshkov

Tenor

Born in 1961 in Iskitim, Novosibirsk region, Russia. In 1990, he graduated from the Novosibirsk Conservatory (class of professor Rimma Zhukova). In 1989-1993, he was a soloist with the Novosibirsk Musical Comedy Theatre. Since 1993 he has been a soloist with the St Petersburg Chamber Opera Company. Since 2003 he has been a guest soloist with the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Lithuania. In 2006-2009, he was a guest soloist with the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2001, he was awarded the title of the Honoured Artist of Russia. In 2004, he was awarded the title of Best Singer of the Year.

His repertoire includes: Lensky (Eugene Onegin), German (The Queen of Spades), The Pretender and Shuysky (Boris Godunov), the Duke (Rigoletto), Riccardo (Un ballo in maschera), Calàf (Turandot), José (Carmen), Boris (Kát’a Kabanová), Eléazar (La Juive). In 2010, he performed the roles of Agrippa and Mephistopheles (The Fiery Angel) at Vienna’s Theaterverein Odeon. He performs the roles of Hoffmann (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) and Count Hauk-Šendorf (The Makropulos Affair) at the Mariinsky Theatre.
