Valery Kirianov
Valery Kiryanov was born in 1980 in Smolensk. In 1999, he graduated from the Musical College of the Smolensk State Arts Institute. In 2004, he graduated from the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music (academic chorus conducting) under supervision of professor Vladimir Sorokin. In 2002, being a student, he started his career at the Helikon Opera Theatre as a member of the chorus. In 2006, he became a chorus master of the Theatre. In 2005–2007, he studied orchestral conducting supervised by professor Timur Mynbaev. In 2005, Valery Kiryanov made his debut as a conductor: he conducted La traviata at the Kaliningrad Regional Musical Theatre.
In 2008, Valery Kiryanov became Principal Conductor of the Kaliningrad Regional Musical Theatre. In 2010, Valery Kiryanov was invited to become Musical Director of the first course of Dmitry Bertman’s workshop at the Russian University of Theatre Arts (GITIS). In 2012, he became a conductor of the Helikon Opera Theatre. His repertoire includes operas Eugene Onegin, The Tsar’s Bride, La traviata, Carmen, Sadko, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, operettas Die Fledermaus, Zigeunerliebe, and Die Zirkusprinzessin.
