Valeria Torunova

Valeria Torunova graduated from Glinka Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatory in 2021 (class of Professor L. Dudoladova, 2021).
In 2020-2022, the artist studied at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Singing Center (class of Professor A. Loshak).
From 2022 to 2024, Valeria Torunova was the soloist of the Youth Opera Program of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia under the direction of Dmitry Vdovin. She performed in the theatre’s concert programs on the Historical and New Stages, in Beethoven Hall, Zaryadye Concert Hall, and P. I. Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. As an artist of the Youth Program, she took part in the premiere performances of “War and Peace. Natasha and Andrei”, a co-production with the Novaya Opera Theatre and Brusnikin Workshop — performing the part of Sonya.
In 2024, the singer completed training at the vocal department of the International Music Academy as part of the XVII Winter International Arts Festival under the direction of Yuri Bashmet (Sochi). In the same year, Valeria joined the troupe of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The artist improved her skills with Dmitry Vdovin, Makvala Kasrashvili, Lyubov Orfenova, took part in master classes by Kristina Mkhitaryan, Khibla Gerzmava, Larisa Gergieva, Semyon Skigin, Ildar Abdrazakov, Dmitry Korchak, Igor Golovatenko, Olga Peretyatko, Massimiliano Bullo (Italy), Alessandro Amoretti (Italy), Badri Maisuradze (Georgia).
- 3rd award winner in the VII Natalia Shpiller International Competition of Vocalists "Masterpieces of Russian Music" (Moscow, 2020)
- 2nd award winner in the XIV Elena Obraztsova International Competition of Young Opera Singers (St. Petersburg, 2023)
- Diploma winner of the XI Nadezhda Obukhova Open All-Russian Competition of Vocalists (Lipetsk, 2024)
- Finalist and winner of the special prize of the Hungarian State Opera House for debut in the performance - IX Galina Vishnevskaya International Competition of Opera Singers (Moscow, 2024)
