Ivan Rudin

Honoured Artist of Russia

Born in 1982, he began his training as a pianist at the Gnessin Moscow Special School of Music (class of Professor T. Zelikman). In 2005, he graduated from the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory (class of Professor L. Naumov), followed by a postgraduate assistantship (class of Professor S. Dorensky). In 2012–2015, he studied at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre with Professor E. Korolyov. He also graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg State Conservatoire as a conductor (class of Professor V. Altsсhuler).
Ivan Rudin is a laureate of prestigious international competitions. He has collaborated with leading Russian and international musicians, including Ildar Abdrazakov, Yury Bashmet, Valery Gergiev, Hibla Gerzmava, Natalia Gutman, Vladimir Krainev, Alexander Lazarev, and Margaret Price. He has worked with the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra, the Bolshoi Theatre Symphony Orchestra, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, and other renowned ensembles.
In 2001, he founded the ArsLonga International Music Festival in Moscow. In 2017, he was appointed Artistic Director of the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, and since 2024 he has been a permanent guest conductor of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.
As musical director and conductor, he has staged semi-staged opera productions at the Zaryadye Concert Hall, including Wagner’s “The Flying Dutchman” and “Tannhäuser”, Tchaikovsky’s “Iolanta”, “Eugene Onegin” and “The Queen of Spades”, Rachmaninoff’s “Francesca da Rimini”, Mussorgsky’s “Boris Godunov”, Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro”, among others.
