Olesya Novikova

Born in Leningrad, she graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy in 2002 (class of Marina Vasilieva).

The same year she joined the Mariinsky Ballet, where her repertoire includes main and solo roles in the ballets La Sylphide, Giselle, Le Corsaire, La Bayadère, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Raymonda, Don Quixote, The Fountain of Bakhchisarai, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Etudes, Marguerite and Armand, The Legend of Love, Carmen-Suite, Jewels (Emeralds, Rubies, Diamonds), among many others. In 2011, at the Teatro alla Scala she appeared in the main role in the premiere performance of the ballet Raymonda (production by Sergey Vikharev).
