Oleg Tsybulko

Oleg Tsybulko graduated from the Ștefan Neaga Musical College in Bălți as a pianist and from the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts of the Republic of Moldova as a vocalist.

In 2005–2007, he participated in the Mărțișor Music Festival in Chișinău. He was a soloist of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Moldova. In 2011, he joined the Bolshoi Theatre Young Artists Opera Program. In 2013–2016, he was a soloist of the Bolshoi Opera. He performed at the Angers & Nantes Opera, Warsaw Opera, and Nice Opera, participated in the Buxton International Festival, Rossini Festival in Pesaro, the Yuri Bashmet Winter Festival of Arts in Sochi, and the Grand Festival of the Russian National Orchestra in Moscow among others. Oleg Tsybulko’s recent engagements include Gremin in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin in the production by Robert Carsen and the Emperor in Stravinsky’s Nightingale in the production by Robert Lepage under the baton of Johannes Debus at the Canadian Opera, Verdi’s Requiem with the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Zubin Mehta, Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex with the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Risto Joost, Raimondo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor in the production by Michael Cavanagh under the baton of Fabrizio Ventura at the Montreal Opera, and Haydn’s Nelson Mass with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment under the baton Paul Goodwin. In 2020, Pentatone released Shostakovich’s 13th Symphony (Babi Yar) featuring Oleg Tsybulko with the Russian National Orchestra under the baton of Kirill Karabits. The singer’s repertoire also includes Malyuta Skuratov in The Tsar’s Bride and Polkan in The Golden Cockerel by Rimsky-Korsakov, Figaro and Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro, Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte and Alfonso in Così fan tutte by Mozart, Oroe in Semiramide, Orbazzano in Tancredi and Zambri in Ciro in Babilonia by Rossini, Banquo in Macbeth, Sparafucile in Rigoletto and the Monk in Don Carlos by Verdi, Collin in La Bohème, Angelotti in Tosca by Puccini, as well as Rodolfo in La sonnambula by Bellini. He cooperated with Vassily Sinaysky, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Alan Buribayev, Alberto Zedda, Antonino Fogliani, Michael Güttler, Christopher Moulds, Laurent Campellone, Julian Reynolds, Federico Maria Sardelli, William Lacey, Tugan Sokhiev, Enrique Mazzola, Vasily Petrenko, Antony Walker, and Alexander Vedernikov.
