Hailed as an extraordinarily versatile artist, Marcello Giordani has a repertory which encompasses a wide and diverse range of roles, spanning the gamut from the bel canto heroes of Donizetti and Bellini to the more dramatic roles of Verdi and Puccini. He has established an extraordinary international career, performing regularly on the world’s most prestigious concert stages and opera houses including Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan, Covent Garden, Opernhaus in Zürich, Wiener Staatsoper, Opéra National de Paris, Liceu in Barcelona, Deutsche Oper in Berlin, San Francisco Opera, Houston Grand Opera, among many other, working with the world’s leading conductors including Daniele Gatti, James Levine, Zubin Mehta, Antonio Pappano and Georg Solti.

A regular guest of the Metropolitan, where he made his debut in 1993, he performed in several other productions, such as Madama Butterfly, La  Gioconda, La bohème, Simon Boccanegra, Carmen, Un  ballo in  maschera, Ernani, Turandot, Roméo et Juliette, Manon Lescaut, Lucia di  Lammermoor, Madama Butterfly and La fanciulla del West.

Marcello Giordani made his professional stage debut as Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto in Spoleto (1986), his American debut as Nadir in Les pêcheurs de perles at the Portland Opera (1988/89 season), his Teatro alla Scala debut as Rodolfo in La bohème (1988). He opened the 2012/13 season gaining a great success with La forza del destino at Liceu de Barcelona.
