Kiril Manolov
Kiril Manolov studied singing at the National Academy of Music in Sofia. He made his debut at the National Academy of Music in Sofia as Don Giovanni (Mozart’s Don Giovanni). He sang in all opera theatres in Bulgaria and also was a member of the Sofia Opera for two years. His repertoire includes the roles of Nabucco (Verdi’s Nabucco), Simon Boccanegra (Verdi’s Simon Boccanegra), Amonasro (Verdi’s Aida), Falstaff (Verdi’s Falstaff), Rodrigo (Verdi’s Don Carlo), Miller (Verdi’s Luisa Miller), Germont (Verdi’s La traviata), Conte di Luna (Verdi’s Il trovatore), Renato (Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera), Marcello (Puccini’s La Bohème), Enrico (Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor), Don Pasquale (Donizetti’s Don Pasquale), Figaro (Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia), Dandini (Rossini’s La cenerentola), Conte (Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro), Riccardo (Bellini’s I puritani), Silvio and Tonio (Leonkavallo’s Pagliacci), Tomsky (Tchaikovsky’s Queen of Spades).
In 2010, he sang Falstaff in new production at the Opera House of Wiesbaden and the same year he made his debut as Falstaff at the Hamburg Opera. In 2011, he sang Falstaff, Miller and Figaro in Wiesbaden, Conte di Luna at the Cologne Opera Theatre, and Miller in Essen. In season 2012/2013, he sang in the new production of Simon Boccanegra in Wiesbaden, Don Pasquale, Aida, and Falstaff in Wuppertal, L’elisir d’amore in Zagreb, Aida in Nurnberg, and Don Pasquale in Darmstadt.
Among his recent engagements: Il barbiere di Siviglia, Simon Boccanegra, La forza del destino and Falstaff in Wiesbaden, Falstaff in Ravenna, Piacenza, Ferrara, Savonlinna, Seville and Reggio Emilia as well as for the Ravenna Festival with Riccardo Muti, La forza del destino in Tampere, Aida and Puccini’s Il trittico in Rome, L’elisir d’amore in Sevilla, Simon Boccanegra in Antwerp, Ravenna, and Innsbruck, Nabucco in Stuttgart, Rigoletto in Savonlinna, Pagliacci in Ravenna, Roma, and Piacenza, Queen of Spades in Savonlinna, La forza del destino in Piacenza, Modena and Reggio Emilia.
