Gury Guryev

Gury Guriev graduated from the Vocal Faculty of the Novosibirsk State Glinka Conservatory in 2018, where he studied under People’s Artist of Russia Professor Zinaida Didenko and Associate Professor Shagdar Zonduyev. In 2017, he trained at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts International Summer Academy under Professor Karlheinz Hanser (Austria).
While still a student in 2017, Guriev joined the company of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre. His repertoire at NOVAT encompasses over 25 roles, including Grigory Gryaznoy (“The Tsar’s Bride”), Robert (“Iolanta”), Prince Igor (“Prince Igor”), Eugene Onegin (“Eugene Onegin”), Shchelkalov (“Boris Godunov”), Mizgir (“The Snow Maiden”), Aleko (“Aleko”), Don Giovanni (“Don Giovanni”), Figaro (“The Barber of Seville”), Marcello (“La Bohème”), Silvio (“Pagliacci”), Amonasro (“Aida”), Angelotti (“Tosca”), Ford ("Falstaff’), Ping (“Turandot”), The Duke (“The Miserly Knight”), The Shade of Virgil (“Francesca da Rimini”) among others.
Gury Guriev was awarded Russia’s National Onegin Opera Prize in 2019 and 2020. He began collaborating with the Mikhailovsky Theatre in 2019, performing Figaro (“Le nozze di Figaro”), Giorgio Germont (“La Traviata”), Tomsky (“The Queen of Spades”), and Escamillo (“Carmen”). Since 2022, he has been guest principal soloist at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. Since 2023, Guriev has performed in productions of Carmen, Il Trovatore, and Le nozze di Figaro at the Metropolitan Opera (New York).
