Anna Nechaeva
Anna Nechaeva graduated from the Poltava Musical College as a vocalist in 1996. The same year, she joined the Saratov Conservatoire. Since 2003, she was a soloist of the Saint Petersburg Chamber Opera where she performed Tatiana in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Lauretta in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, the title roles in Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Madama Butterfly, and Xenia in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov. In 2012, she joined the Bolshoi Opera. At the Bolshoi, she performs Nastasya in The Enchantress, Iolanta in Iolanta, Tatiana in Eugene Onegin, Liza in The Queen of Spades, and Maria in Mazeppa by Tchaikovsky, Kupava in Snow Maiden and Olga Tokmakova in The Maid of Pskov by Rimsky-Korsakov, Liu in Turandot, Mimì in La Bohème and Manon in Manon Lescaut by Puccini, Elisabeth of Valois in Don Carlos, Violetta in La traviata, and Amelia in Un ballo in maschera by Verdi, as well as Yaroslavna (Borodin’s Prince Igor), Micaëla (Bizet’s Carmen), Doña Anna (Dargomyzhsky’s Stone Guest), and the soprano role in the performance The Fables of the Vixen, the Duckling and Balda after Prokofiev’s The Ugly Duckling. In 2014, she debuted at the Latvian Opera as Leonora in Verdi’s Il trovatore. In 2015, she performed the roles of Francesca (Rachmaninoff’s Francesca da Rimini) and Zemfira (Rachmaninoff’s Aleko) at La Monnaie. In 2016, she starred in Manon Lescaut at the German State Opera. In 2017, she appeared as Iolanta in Savonlinna and as Tatiana in Aix-en-Profence and Savonlinna. In 2018, she appeared as Polina in the new production of Prokofiev’s Gambler staged by Karin Henkel under the baton of Dmitri Jurowski at the Gent Opera. In 2019, she debuted at the Washington Opera as Tatiana under the baton of Robert Trevino (production by Robert Carsen revived by Peter McClintock). She performed Lisa (The Queen of Spades) in Toulouse under the baton of Tugan Sokhiev and at the San Carlo Theatre, as well as Tatiana at the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival in Japan. She also performed Lisa as the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Theatre in Moscow where she also appeared as Elisabeth in Wagner’s Tannhäuser and Aida in Aida.
In 2008, she made her debut at the Mikhailovsky Theatre as Nedda in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci. In 2008–2011, she was the soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre and performed the main female roles in Eugene Onegin, and Dvořák’s Rusalka. In 2014, she appeared at the Mikhailovsky Theatre as Manon Lescaut.
