Xabier Anduaga
Xabier Anduaga studied singing at the Highest School of Music in Spain. In 2016, he attended the Rossini Academy in Pesaro under the supervision of Alberto Zedda. Soon after he made his Rossini Opera Festival debut as Cavalier Belfiore in Il viaggio a Reims.
During the 2016/2017 season, he performed Don Ramiro in Rossini’s La Cenerentola at the Bilbao Opera and at the Rossini Theatre in Pesaro, Adraste in Le Siège de Corinthe staged by Fura dels Baus and under the baton of Roberto Abbado at the Rossini Opera Festival, as well as Cavalier Belfiore in Il viaggio a Reims at the Verona Phiharmonic Theatre. He also took part as soloist in the Rossini Gala at the Limoges Opera and at the Madrid Royal Theatre.
The beginning of 2017/2018 season has seen him performing Lord Arturo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor that marked his company debut at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées under the baton of Roberto Abbado, Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola at the Sibiu International Festival and at the Pamplona Opera, and Conte d’Almaviva in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Ancona Musical Theatre.
Among his future plans: Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini at Auditorio de Madrid, Fenton in Verdi’s Falstaff with the Budapest Festival Orchestra under the baton of Iván Fischer, and during a tour in Hong Kong, Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri at the Colon Theatre under the baton of Antonello Allemandi, Ricciardo e Zoraide at the Rossini Opera Festival, Paolino in Il matrimonio segreto at the Wallonie Royal Opera, Rossini’s Messa di Gloria at the Limoges Opera, Belcanto Gala at the Paris Philharmonic Society, Il barbiere di Siviglia at NCPA in Beijing and at the Rouen Opera, and Ferrando in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv.
