Maria Abashova

In 1997–1998, she was a soloist with the Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2002, graduated from the Ballet Conservatoire in Sankt-Poelten in Austria and the same year joined the Eifman Ballet Theatre in St Petersburg. Today she is a principal dancer of the company. In 2018, she was awarded the title of the Honoured Artist of Russia.
Her roles include Doctor, Girl from tavern/ Dulcinea, Kitri (I, Don Quixote), Orthodox (My Jerusalem), Soloist (Musagete), Anna (Anna Karenina), Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), Camille, Rose Beuret (Rodin, Her Eternal Idol), Grushenka (Beyond Sin), Mother (Requiem), Nicole Warren, Rosemary Hoyt (Up & Down), Ballerina (Red Giselle), Nadezhda von Meck, The Countess (Tchaikovsky. PRO et CONTRA), The Empress (Russian Hamlet), Tea (The Pygmalion Effect), Madeleine (Molière Passion, or The Mask of Don Juan), Irina Arkadina (The Seagull. A Ballet Story).

  • Golden Mask award in the category “Best Female Role” for the role of Anna Karenina in the ballet Anna Karenina choreographed by Boris Eifman (2006)
