World Theatre Day

On 27 March, theatres from around the world will celebrate World Theatre Day. We would like to offer our best wishes to all those who are drawn to the captivating, vibrant world of the theatre, where wonders and fantasies abound, and high ideals, tenderness, and passion are in plentiful supply.

The Mikhailovsky Theatre is often compared to a jewel box because of its modest size and elegant interiors. Great riches are kept inside this box. Our productions are our treasures, crafted with a jeweller’s eye. In them, the talents of composers, choreographers, set designers, directors, lighting designers, artists, and many others are brought to life. Each of these individuals and their various professions are an invaluable part of the process of creating a stage production.
