The Tsar’s Bride to be screened in cinemas

In a nationwide project instigated by the Golden Mask Festival, Russian cinemas will screen live performances of productions that have been nominated for the national theatrical award. One of these is the Mikhailovsky Theatre’s production of The Tsar’s Bride, which has been nominated for a Golden Mask in three categories, including Best Opera Production.

The Golden Mask in Cinema project will be presented at the TASS press centre on 3 March at 1:00 p.m. in a web link press conference between Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk.

The press conference will be joined in St. Petersburg by Mikhail Tatarnikov, Musical Director and Principal Conductor at the Mikhailovsky Theatre, and Andrey Moguchy, Artistic Director of the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theatre.

In Moscow, press conference participants will include Sergey Kapkov, Head of the Department of Culture for the Moscow Government; Maria Revyakina, Director of the Golden Mask Festival; Nadezhda Kotova, Director of art group Cool Connections; and actors Andrey Kuzichev and Anna Khalilulina.

From Yekaterinburg we will be hearing from Andrey Shishkin, Director of the Yekaterinburg State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, and choreographer Vyacheslav Samodurov. Finally, Maria Gottlieb, Programme Director at Pobeda Cinema Complex, will be joining the conference from Novosibirsk.
