The Theatre as a Model Employer
The Mikhailovsky Theatre has been awarded the Certificate of Trust as an employer that guarantees observance of the rights of its employees. The theatre has been granted this status for a period of three years.
The decision to award the certificate is the result of the work of a tripartite committee that studied every aspect of labour relations in the theatre’s artistic workshops, technical offices, and subdivisions.
The Certificate of Trust is awarded annually in St. Petersburg to organizations that are irreproachable in their adherence to employment legislation. This document is significant in that it is evidence of the trust of three major bodies: the State Labour Inspectorate, the Federation of Trade Unions of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, and the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. State and public institutions have therefore affirmed that the Mikhailovsky Theatre guarantees observance of its employees’ rights.
This year only four of 12 nominated organizations in St. Petersburg were awarded a Certificate of Trust. The Mikhailovsky is the only theatre among them. The theatre has been working for many years to improve its employees’ working conditions and appreciates the trust it has been accorded.
