The ballet Laurencia was nominated for a premium
The finalists of the Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards 2010 have been announced. The ballet Laurencia and Mikhail Messerer, Ballet Master in Chief of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, who revived the production of the basis of the original choreography by Vakhtang Chabukiani have been shortlisted in the Best Classical Choreography category.
The production was presented at the London Coliseum during the summer tour of the Mikhailovsky Theatre and became very popular with the public. The nomination for the National Dance Awards attests to its recognition also by the professionals.
The nominees are selected by 50 dance writers — the critics and journalists who see and review companies on a daily basis. The winners of 2010 will be revealed on 24 January 2011 at the awards ceremony.
