St Petersburg and Sevastopol Theatres Sign Partnership Agreement

On 25 February, the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St Petersburg hosted a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement with the Sevastopol Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The primary goal of this partnership is to strengthen ties between the twin cities of St Petersburg and Sevastopol through art.
The Mikhailovsky Theatre, one of the oldest musical theatres in St Petersburg, first opened its doors to the public in 1833. The Sevastopol Opera and Ballet Theatre was established by order of Vladimir Putin through a directive of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 6 June 2019.
Under the agreement, the theatres plan to exchange expertise in organizing and staging opera and ballet performances, as well as in using advertising and information technologies to attract new audiences and promote musical art. Joint cultural events are also on the agenda.
The ceremony was attended by the heads of the regions: the Governor of St Petersburg, Alexander Beglov; the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev; as well as the General Director of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, Irina Deligach, and Director of the Sevastopol Opera and Ballet Theatre, Anna Kasatkina.
