Soloists of the Mikhailovsky Opera starring in La Juive

On March 13, soloists of the Mikhailovsky Opera will star in the main roles in La Juive, the opera by Jacques Halévy. Tatiana Ryaguzova will appear as Rachel, Alexander Matveyev as Cardinal de Brogni.

Sergey Aleshchenko, a soloist of the St Petersburg Opera Theatre will perform the role of Léopold. Natalia Mironova for the third time will perform the role of Eudoxie, hailed by the critics as the singer who ‘excelled in warbles, gammas and other bijous of her great aria’ (Sergey Khodnev, The Kommersant newspaper). Valter Borin, an Italian tenor, is to perform the role of Eléazar. Franck Villard who was involved in preparing the production as Rehearsal Conductor and Style Consultant will conduct the performance.

The premiere of La Juive became a great event which triggered an immediate response in mass media.

The first premiere of the theatre in 2010 opened the theatre programme of the Year of France in Russia.
