SOGAZ provides insurance for stars of Mikhailovsky Theatre

The SOGAZ Insurance Group is now the official insurance company of the Mikhailovsky Theatre. The theatre’s creative leadership, top performers, and management team will have access to quality healthcare through SOGAZ voluntary medical insurance policies.

SOGAZ will insure a total of 50 people up to the value of RUB 100 million. Those insured include Musical Director and Principal Conductor Mikhail Tatarnikov, Artistic Director of the Mikhailovsky Chorus and Honoured Artist of Russia Vladimir Stolpovskikh, Ballet Master in Chief Mikhail Messerer, ballet and opera soloists, and orchestra concert masters.

SOGAZ is the leading provider of voluntary medical insurance in Russia, providing healthcare for 2.5 million policyholders all over the country. The company’s staff includes more than 120 doctors providing expertise in a variety of specialist fields. They are able to offer advice to clients on the availability of medical services, organize specialized care and examinations, fulfil patient treatment plans, and maintain service quality. The Insurance Group’s regional network covers over 600 subdivisions and sales offices throughout the country.

Tatiana Smirnova, SOGAZ Director of Personal Insurance:

“All policyholders will be able to receive outpatient service, at-home care, dental care, accident and emergency assistance, and inpatient treatment in the event of urgent or planned hospitalization.”

Eduard Yablokov, Director of SOGAZ’s St. Petersburg Branch:

“It is simply impossible to imagine St. Petersburg without the Mikhailovsky Theatre. The theatre is an integral part of the city’s image, history, and culture. Becoming an official partner of the Mikhailovsky Theatre is a great honour for us. Our company will do everything it can to ensure that the theatre’s performers receive qualified care in the city’s best medical facilities, including the SOGAZ International Medical Center, and will be able to continue delighting their audiences in the new season.”

Olga Kapanina, Director of the Mikhailovsky Theatre Opera Company:

“We highly value the cooperation between the theatre and SOGAZ, and the mutual interests that we share. I believe that this link between business and the arts is very important. Having the support of an insurance company with an impeccable reputation will create good working conditions for our artists. With their health already taken care of, they will be able to focus on their work for new productions.”

Andrey Kuligin, Director of the Mikhailovsky Theatre Ballet Company:

“It’s no secret that there is a high risk of injury in ballet. In fact, we have dealt with injuries since childhood. Moreover, there are many occupational hazards associated with ballet, making preventative care and diagnosis vital. It’s very important not to ignore an injured muscle, but to attend to small strains early and thereby prevent more serious problems. We are glad that there are high-level specialists at SOGAZ who are capable of providing professional care to ballet dancers, a task which has its own specific demands. I believe that it is especially important that the insurance company has offered us not only treatment, but regular check-ups, diagnosis, and full care for all levels of illness and injury.”
