Sales are now open
Dear friends, sales for April and the first half of May are now open!
Opera connoisseurs will find a wide variety of productions in the April playbill: the dazzling “Mozart. The Marriage of Figaro” and the lyrical “La traviata”, the passionate “Carmen” and the dramatic “Tosca”, the effervescent “L’elisir d’amore”, and the historical epic “The Oprichnik”. The operetta “Die Fledermaus” will end the month, striking a major chord before the May holidays.
The ballet repertoire will delight both seasoned viewers and first-time theatre-goers. Classic productions such as “Swan Lake”, “Le Corsaire”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “Don Quixote”, “Giselle, ou Les Wilis” feature alongside masterpieces of the 20th centuries, the ballets “Spartacus” and “Romeo and Juliet”. Fans of modern choreography will be delighted to see one of the finest productions by Nacho Duarte on the playbill, “Multiplicity. Forms of Silence and Emptiness”. For family visits to the theatre, the children’s ballets “Cipollino” and “Cinderella” are ideal.
The May holidays begin with this year’s dazzling ballet premiere, with “The Bright Stream”, with an atmosphere and mood that perfectly suits the Festival of Spring and Labour. On 9 May, according to tradition the playbill features the ballet “Spartacus”, telling of the struggle for freedom. Before the May break, you can also see the exotic “La Bayadère”, the fairytale “The Little Humpbacked Horse”, and “Hidalgo of La Mancha”, the most Spanish ballet in our repertoire
The opera playbill for May opens with two of this season’s premieres — “Carmen” staged by Nacho Duarte, and “The Lady of the Camellias” staged by Vladimir Kekhman.
There will also be performances by the Gorky Moscow Art Theatre of “Yesenin’s Women” — one of the most popular Moscow stage productions of recent years.
