Runway Youth Festival of Contemporary Choreography

On 3 September, the Mikhailovsky Theatre will host a new St. Petersburg project — the Runway Youth Festival of Contemporary Choreography. The festival, supported by the St. Petersburg authorities, aims to encourage the creativity of young choreographers and to support groups seeking out new forms in the art of dance. The festival’s opening gala concert will feature productions by local choreographers — some well known, others just starting out in this field: Vera Arbuzova, Vladimir Varnava, Oleg Gabyshev, Konstantin Keykhel, Alisa Panchenko, Dmitry Pimonov, and Yuri Smekalov. The guests of honour will include such celebrated artists as Yulia Makhalina, Sofia Gumerova, Vladimir Adzhamov, and Ilya Kuznetsov.
