Romeo, Juliet, and Billy awarded Golden Sofit

The award ceremony for St. Petersburg’s most prestigious theatre prize, the Golden Sofit, has taken place. The award winners for the 2012/13 season are:

Oksana Bondareva in the category of Best Female Role in a Ballet — for her portrayal of Juliet in Romeo and Juliet.

Leonid Sarafanov in the category of Best Male Role in a Ballet — for his portrayal of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet.

Andrei Bondarenko in the category of Best Male Role in an Opera — for his portrayal of Billy Budd in the opera of the same name.

In the Best Operatic Production category, the Golden Sofit award went to Billy Budd (Stage Director Willy Decker, Music Director Mikhail Tatarnikov)

Mikhail Tatarnikov received a special Golden Sofit award for Theatrical Expression in Musical Direction.
