Legendary ballet photographer Paul Kolnik
It was none other than George Balanchine himself who invited Paul Kolnik to become the New York City Ballet’s photographer in residence. He has been photographing the company’s dancers and international ballet stars, including the legendary Rudolf Nureyev and Mikhail Baryshnikov, for over thirty years.
We invite you to have a look at a gallery of Paul Kolnik’s work on our website. These photographs were taken during the Mikhailovsky Theatre’s recent performances on tour in New York.
As part of the Diaghilev P.S. Festival, an exhibition marking the 110th anniversary of George Balanchine’s birth will open in the Mikhailovsky Theatre’s Fireplace Hall on 29 November.
