Nikita Dolgushin underwent a serious operation

The Mikhailovsky Theatre staff is highly concerned with the reports from the Henri Mondor Hospital in Paris where Nikita Dolgushin, the ballet coach of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, was taken after blood stroke.

The outstanding dancer, choreographer, a specialist in classical ballet heritage, Nikita Dolgushin was invited by the Paris National Opera to give several master-classes and open lessons.

In particular, on 18 February he gave a lesson dedicated to his teacher Alexander Pushkin, a prominent reformer male classical dance, who taught Rudolf Nureyev, Yury Solovyov, and Mikhail Baryshnikov. The next lesson, scheduled for 22 February, didn’t not take place: the health of Nikita Dolgushin sharply deteriorated and he suffered a brain hemorrhage.

On 22 February he underwent an emergency surgery. The patient’s condition is very serious. The Mikhailovsky Theatre stays in contact with the hospital. The Frenchdoctors continue to fight for the life of Nikita Dolgushin.
