Nikita Dolgushin’s lecture on Don Quixote

The series of lectures on ballet is continued with the story about Don Quixote.

On May, 15 the public has a unique chance to listen to the story by the famous dancer, choreographer and ballet coach Nikita Dolgushin. The great expert in dance will deliver the history of a popular ballet. Don Quixote first staged in 1869 by Marius Petipa and restaged by Alexander Gorsky in the early 20th century seems to feel no burden of years or world fame or even any responsibility about the literary base, the novel by Miguel de Cervantes. It’s still one of the airiest ballets full of energy, sense of humour and vitality. It lends freedom of dance to the performers who show not only their technical abilities but their drama talent and fantasy.

The lecture starts at 6.15 pm. Detailed information is available in the box-office.
