New stars of the Mikhailovsky Ballet company
Ekaterina Borchenko, Andrei Kasyanenko and Vera Arbuzova joined the Mikhailovsky Ballet company. The new stars are to be seen in the nearest future.
Ekaterina Borchenko graduated from the Academy of Russian Ballet named after A. Vaganova in 2000 (class of Lyudmila Kovalyova). In2000-2003 she danced in Moscow Musical Theatre named after K.Stanislavsky and V. Nemirovch-Damnchenko, in 2003-2007 in the Bolshoi Theatre of Belorus. Ms Borchenko took part in numerous ballet competitions in Nagoya, Varna, Moscow. The repertoire of the ballerina includes the parts of Odette-Odile (Swan Lake), Nikya, Gamzatti (“La Bayadere”), Princess Aurora (“The Sleeping Beauty”), Kitri (“Don Quixote”), Giselle (“Giselle”). On April 9, Ekaterina Borchenko performs Nikya in the ballet “La Bayadere” at the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
Vera Arbuzova graduated from the Krasnoyarsk Choreography school. Since 1992 to 2008 she was a soloist of the St.Petersburg Theatre of Ballet directed by Boris Eifman. The ballerina is Honored Artist of Russia, laureate of prizes “Zolotoy Sofit” and “Soul of Dance”. The repertoire at the St.Petersburg Theatre of Ballet directed by Boris Eifman included the parts of Giselle, Myrtha (“Giselle”), Nadezhda von Mekk (“Tchaikovsky”), Ballerina (“Red Giselle”), Grunshenka (“The Karamazovs”), Anna (“Anna Karenina”) and many others. Vera Arbuzova is rehearsing several parts for the ballets of the Mikhailovsky theatre, on April, 5 she performs the part of Street Dancer in the ballet “Don Quixote”.
