Nacho Duato Receives Spanish Honorary Award
Nacho Duato has been made a Commander of the Order of Civil Merit, an award conferred by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. He learned of this honorary award in a letter passed on by Ricardo Conde, the Spanish Consul-General in St. Petersburg. The letter stated that the award had been conferred on Nacho Duato for outstanding work in the development of Spanish culture and the strengthening of its international prestige.
The Order of Civil Merit was instituted by His Majesty King Alfonso XIII in 1926 and is awarded to Spanish citizens and nationals of other countries in recognition of extraordinary service for the benefit of Spain and its people.
Nacho Duato has lived and worked in St. Petersburg since January 2011. The Mikhailovsky Theatre would like to congratulate its choreographer on receiving this honorary mark of distinction!
