Mikhail Messerer, a famous ballet teacher and choreographer, conducts a series of ballet master classes at the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
Mikhail Messerer is one of the world’s prominent ballet teachers in the world. He is a guest teacher for American Ballet Theatre (ABT), Paris National Opera, La Scala, the English Royal Ballet and many other ballet companies. More than 25 years Mr Messerer has been a guest teacher for Covent Garden.
Mr Messerer takes an active part in preparing the programme of the first tour of the Mikhailovsky Ballet in London in July 2008.
“It’s a great honor but also a great responsibility to conduct ballet master classes in St. Petersburg — the cradle of the classical ballet, stronghold of academism, and just a most beautiful city of the world. During the classes at the Mikhailovsky Theatre I’d like to share with the dancers my views to the art of ballet. Also I hope to get many new ideas from my younger colleagues”.
