General Partner of the Mikhailovsky Theatre: The ICT Group
In April 2012, the ICT Group became the Mikhailovsky Theatre’s General Partner. The support of one of Russia’s most influential and fastest-growing holding companies offers the Mikhailovsky Theatre additional opportunities to put its mission into action and continue its creative development.
Nikolai Dobrinov, Vice-President of the ICT Group: “We see our partnership with the Mikhailovsky Theatre as a great honour and a great responsibility. In recent years, the theatre has become one of St. Petersburg’s most striking cultural phenomena: its star-studded troupe commands mass attention, and each premiere is an event. I especially want to highlight the theatre’s educational work: the role it plays in promoting theatre among children and young adults, and in strengthening family values. We will be greatly pleased if our support helps the Mikhailovsky Theatre successfully put its development programme for the next few years into action, continue to shape the new generation of theatre-goers, and, in a wider sense, promote a renaissance of Russian culture.”
General Director of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, Vladimir Kekhman: “I would like to offer my sincere gratitude to the Mikhailovsky Theatre’s new General Partner. The ICT Group represents Russia’s key industries. We have found a lofty common ground: together, we are building a new Russia. The impact of creative energy, which currently abounds in the Mikhailovsky Theatre, can go far beyond the world of opera and ballet. Art has always existed in tandem with big business, an alliance that has benefited both parties.”
The ICT Group is one of the largest privately owned investment and industrial companies in Russia. It manages assets in the financial, precious metal and mineral mining, transportation equipment, industrial engineering, and development industries. The Group’s assets include such companies as Polymetal, NOMOS-BANK, Khanty-Mansi Bank, Baltic Leasing, and the Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant.
