Film premiere: Hymn to a Great City

The Mikhailovsky Theatre is continuing its tradition of hosting film premieres. On 6 February, the theatre will present a unique film project: Hymn to a Great City. The film allows us to see a resplendent St. Petersburg with new eyes. The city is shown from unusual perspectives and unexpected viewpoints, in different kinds of light. Familiar landscapes take on new guises and scales, whilst the aerial shots lend a new dimension to the urban space.

Hymn to a Great City is a self-contained work of art with its own dramatic composition, created using rare and challenging shots and the latest advances in imaging technology.

The film was made by St. Petersburg Documentary Film Studios and the film company Dva Kapitana with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Running time: 50 minutes
Project manager and screenwriter: Sergey Debizhev
Director: Andrey Efimov
Composers: Viktor Sologub, Alexey Karpov
