Feedback on Student Wednesdays
The Student Wednesdays promotion launched by the Mikhailovsky Theatre at the beginning of the season has been an unqualified success. At the performance of the ballet La Bayadère on 15 February, students who had taken advantage of the special discount price shared their views on the theatre’s initiative.
Masha Mazilina and Alyona Martynchuk (second-year students in the Soil Biology Faculty, St. Petersburg State University):
“We have the best seats in the house — in the dress circle — for just 700 roubles! We did buy the tickets in advance, though, in the middle of January. This is the second time we have come to a Student Wednesday. Last time, we saw Swan Lake. The promotion’s a great idea: Low prices and good seats. We wanted to come in January too, but it was exam time”.
Maria Mekhonoshina (second-year student, Mathematics and Mechanics Faculty, St. Petersburg State University):
“It’s great that this promotion is held regularly. I’ve already seen the ballet Giselle and the opera Un ballo in maschera. I would really like to see Nacho Duato’s The Sleeping Beauty”.
Ekaterina Vasko (first-year masters student, Oriental Faculty, St. Petersburg State University):
“The only drawback is that the tickets sell out very quickly. If you’re not quick, the only tickets left are in the third circle. They’re just as cheap, though”.
On 25 April, students can see the ballet Romeo and Juliet.
Tickets for Student Wednesdays are available only at the Mikhailovsky Theatre box office. One ticket may be purchased for each student ID presented. Students must present a valid student ID or ISIC card when attending the production.
