Designer Souvenirs from Tatyana Parfenova
Tatyana Parfenova is indisputably recognized as a key figure in the contemporary Russian fashion industry. She has a sense of form and colour that is perhaps unparalleled in Russian fashion. Everything produced in her Fashion House, including designer clothing, accessories, and household objects, is made to compliment the surrounding environment, creating an impression of «the simplicity of ideal harmony and feeling».
As a frequent visitor to the Mikhailovsky Theatre, Tatyana decided that she would create a collection of original souvenirs especially for its dedicated fans. Each of the objects in the limited edition series is a physical manifestation of the elusive aura of the theatre. They evoke that particular, pre-opening atmosphere which contains a mixture of the sounds of the orchestra tuning up, the sparkle of crystal chandeliers, the excitement and chic ambience of the foyer, the anticipatory trill of the bells, and the peals of applause. Tatyana has found a form which embodies this thrilling combination.
Tatyana Parfenova’s designer collection includes affordable tees, notebooks, and elegant shawls. Unusually interpreted, fully utilitarian objects are enhanced by elements of theatre décor: gilded masks, moulded vignettes, and fragments of decorative plafond. The luxurious shawls, which will be available either in silk or cashmere, are the artist’s original variations on the theme of the theatre curtain.
Tatyana’s souvenir collection will be available exclusively at the Mikhailovsky Theatre. The entire stock will go on sale in January. However, notebooks can currently be acquired from ushers before the performance and during intermission.
