Closing of the 191st season

Season 191 is coming to an end. On July 26, the Mikhailovsky Theatre will close it with the ballet Swan Lake. The last opera performance, Carmen, will take place on our stage on July 22. As a tradition, we invite you to share these special moments with us.

However, we are in no hurry to say goodbye. Until the end of the season, we expect not only a changeable St. Petersburg summer, but also many interesting events: gala concerts with the participation of world stage stars, new vocal and instrumental programs in the dress circle lobby, touring performances of the Gorky Moscow Art Theatre, original opera productions and, of course, the long-awaited festival “Ballet Summer”. In August, two groups will tour on our stage at once: the Tchaikovsky St. Petersburg Ballet Theatre and the Moscow Regional State Academic Theatre “Russian Ballet”.

This season, the Mikhailovsky Theatre produced several major opera and ballet premieres: “Carmen” by Georges Bizet, “The Limpid Stream” by Dmitry Shostakovich and “The Lady of the Camellias” to the music of Giuseppe Verdi. And all of them invariably attracted full houses. From September to May we presented more than three hundred performances, trying to make every evening at the Mikhailovsky Theatre unforgettable for you. Bright debuts and performances of stars, symphony, chamber and gala concerts, festivals, tours, exhibitions, excursions, children’s subscriptions — all this is just for you!
