Michael Messerer has achieved international renown not only as a teacher, who has given many opportunities to young dancers, but also as the finest choreographer-restorer and editor of classical choreography. As we all try to carry on during this difficult time these photographs from his latest magical production of Coppelia which opened the current 188th season at the Mikhailovsky Theatre in St Petersburg and his marvelous Cinderella with performances scheduled in December should help cheer us all up as we look outside ourselves to see that dance is carrying on where it can. With effective planning we will all in time return to all genres of dancing and be better than ever.
