The Mikhailovsky Theatre goes on tour to Japan

In winter 2014–2015, the Mikhailovsky Theatre goes on tour to Japan. On 28 December, the New Year concert program will be opened with Beethoven’s 5th and 9th Symphonies by the Mikhailovsky SO under the conduction of the Music Director and Principal Conductor of the theatre Mikhail Tatarnikov. Ballet performances begin with a gala concert on 3 January (fragments from The Nutcracker (production by Nikolay Boyarchikov), Swan Lake (revised by Mikhail Messerer) and Raymonda). On the following days, Japan audience will be presented with Le Corsaire revised by Farukh Ruzimatov, full version of Swan Lake and Giselle revised by Nikita Dolgushin in 1973. The tour will be closed with the concert of the Symphonic Orchestra if the Mikhailovsky Theatre under conduction of Valentin Bogdanov.
