The Mikhailovsky Opera in Korea

On 2-10 October the Mikhailovsky Opera soloists went to Korea to participate in the International Daegu International Opera Festival, the events of which took place in Seoul, Daegu, Busan, Moscow, St Petersburg and other Korean and Russian cities.

On 7 and 10 October the Mikhailovsky Opera will show the classical staging of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin at the Daegu Opera Theatre. The main roles were performed by Ekaterina Sevryukova, Nina Romanova, Tatiana Ryaguzova, Dmitry Darov, Marina Pinchuk, Dmitry Golovnin, Yury Monchak, Alexey Kuligin, and Anton Puzanov under the baton of Mikhail Leontyev, the young conductor of the Mikhailovsky Theatre, prize-winner at the XV International Conducting Competition MIN-ON and the winner of the special prize of ASAHI Company, prize-winner at the I Open Musin Conducting Competition, diploma-bearer at the V International Prokofiev Conducting Competition and the winner of the special prize of YAMAHA Company. Yulia Prokhorova, a stage director of the Mikhailovsky theatre, also worked on the Korean tour of the Mikhailovsky Theatre. The production featured Korean chorus and orchestra.
