The London public will see masterpieces of classical legacy, a popular ballet for children and a Triple Bill. In the course of the London Tour-2008,Giselle was hailed as ‘an exemplary’ one and being ‘an epitome of Romantic ballet’.

Swan Lake, an important premiere of the 2009/10 season, is a remake of the historical staging shown in London in 1956. Cipollino is a rare specialty: it was choreographed for the young audience, which is quite unusual for repertoires of ballet theatres. Its European premiere took place in the autumn 2009 at the International festival in Finland. The public was very enthusiastic about the production: they appreciated the charm of the characters and have got involved in the adventures of the plot. The critics hailed Cipollino as a real success. The program of the Triple Bill will feature along with classical pieces a new one-act ballet choreographed by Vyacheslav Samodurov to music by Domenico Scarlatti.

The focal point of the London Tour-2010 is the premiere of the ballet Laurencia.
The London public will be the first to see Vakhtang Chabukiani’s legendary ballet, revived by Mikhail Messerer, the Ballet Master in Chief of the Mikhailovsky Theatre. The new version of Laurencia is staged to mark the centenary of Chabukiani, who, in his Laurencia, united the language of classical ballet with the Spanish folk dances. For the first time in its history the Mikhailovsky Theatre is premiering a production on a foreign tour, stressing the importance of its visit to London.
